Butter Candle

Ingredients:

  • clean pringles can
  • food grade wick
  • roasted garlic
  • fresh herbs
  • 3 cups salted butter
  • crusty loaf of sourdough

Instructions:

  • Make roasted garlic first! Cut the top off of a whole bulb of garlic, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt. Wrap it in aluminum foil and roast in a 400°F/200°C oven for 30-40 minutes. Let the garlic cool before using.
  • Remove the stems from the herbs and chop them finely.
  • Let your butter sit out at room temperature until it’s soft.
  • Combine butter, garlic and herbs until completely mixed.
  • Poke a small hole in the metal at the middle of the base of the pringles can and secure wick.
  • Fill the can with the butter mixture.
  • Poke a hole in the middle of the lid of the pringles can and secure wick.
  • Chill butter candle overnight.
  • Peel off the Pringles can to reveal the candle.
  • Cut a hole in the sourdough to fit and candle, place the candle inside.
  • Light and serve.
